About Richard Jarvis
I have been in the field of GIS for over a decade. After growing up with computers and always loving maps, I decided that GIS was the perfect fit for me. In 2008 I graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Geography. After graduation I published a map series with the Kansas Geological Survey then moved on to an engineering company in Topeka. There, I started as a GIS Technician, got the opportunity to work on some big projects, optimized some production systems, and eventually worked my way into the development team. I worked on several large scale enterprise solutions for class 1 railroads. After honing my development skills and later discovering the power of FOSS4G technologies, I decided to strike out on my own and offer consulting services for GIS-based solutions.
